Historic churches hold special services celebrating the birth of Christ
BOSQUE COUNTY - Bosque County has a strong Norwegian and German heritage. On Dec. 24, several churches with a rich history offer Christmas Eve Services.
The iconic St. Olaf’s Kirke – the old rock church – is to hold three Christmas Eve candlelight services. The first service begins at 4:30 p.m., the second starts at 6 p.m. and the third with communion is at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend and to bring flashlights, jackets and blankets. Another iconic church with strong Norwegian ties Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at Norse is holding its Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m. There is no Christmas Day service on December 25 is at 10:45 a.m. The church is located at 152 CR 4145. The Zion United Church of Christ with strong German ties has a Christmas Eve service with a communion is at 6 p.m. The church is located at 1411 FM 219 in Womack, six miles northeast of Clifton.
