Romance by candlelight with roses, fine wine & dinner for two: Bosque Arts Center’s Culinary Club hosts Valentine’s Day Progressive Dinner Feb. 14
CLIFTON – Soft, dimmed lighting, some bubbly to start the evening, beautiful crystal wine glasses catch the candlelight, a table setting for two, a fine bottle of red decanting, awaiting to be poured is the same color as the velvety deep red roses, soft jazz in the background – it all spells “romantic dinner.” And Valentine’s Day, February 14 is the perfect day to plan a date with your very special person.

With that in mind, the Bosque Arts Center’s Culinary Club organized a unique fundraiser for the club. Its members planned a romantic three-course Valentine’s Progressive Dinner on all three floors of the BAC. The dinner features delicious appetizers and desserts by some of Bosque County’s finest home cooks, and a main course prepared by acclaimed chef Michael “Chef Oz” Osborne and his talented crew.
Talented pianist Steve Chambers supplies the romantic musical interludes. And ladies, the old saying goes “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,” so grab this opportunity to ask him on a date for a change. And if you are single, don’t be shy – you might be able to mingle with another culinary-minded single. This is a moving feast you won’t want to miss.

Tickets to this special dinner Friday, Feb. 14 at the Bosque Arts Center are selling fast, so be sure to secure yours as soon as possible. Cost for the three-course dinner including the champagne cocktail and wine is $75 per ticket, and tickets may be purchased online at bosqueartscenter.org. BYOB is allowed. Culinary Club President Virginia Richards said the group arrived at the idea of a Valentine’s progressive dinner as a fundraiser. Proceeds will benefit the Culinary Club and Bosque Arts Center.
The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with champagne cocktails and appetizers on the beautifully restored third floor Frazier Performance of the historic 1923 Bosque Arts Center main building, which affords one of the most spectacular views in Bosque County. The first course includes personal favorites prepared by Culinary Club members.
Diners enjoy the second course and wine at a beautiful table setting, surrounded by the stunning permanent art collection on the BAC’s second-floor Roland Jones Memorial Art Gallery.
Chef Oz is no stranger to the BAC, and many have enjoyed his culinary skills at various themed evenings. This Valentine’s he is sure to make a memorable and delicious main course. Richards said Chef Osborne is a not only a fabulous chef, but a wonderful instructor and entertainer. Osborne grew up in Waco, attended Baylor University and studied culinary arts at the Culinary Institute of America.

The final course and coffee served on the first floor atrium features a decadent variety of favorite desserts, also prepared by members of the Culinary Club.
Richards promises the progressive dinner will be a “night to remember” for both longtime supporters of the BAC and a great way to introduce newcomers to the non-profit fine arts organization. A photo booth allows guests to capture the memory of this fun, lovey-dovey fundraiser.
The Culinary Club is a sub-group of the BAC which gathers regularly to discuss food, share recipes, enjoys field trips and hosting visiting chefs to learn new cooking skills. The group also hosts a popular summer cooking camp for children at the BAC.
