Bosque Museum invites visitors to participate Wednesday
Connecting with the now generation known as Generation Z, the Bosque Museum will be participating in International Museum Selfie Day on Wednesday, January 15 from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.
An annual event started in 2015, Mar Dixon visited several museums with her daughter and thought of the idea as a way to share the experience and create memories. Now, museums worldwide participate in the campaign via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
By participating in the event, Bosque Museum asks visitors to use @bosquemuseum and #MuseumSelfieDay when uploading your photos to social media, if you choose to share them. The museum will also offer a “selfie station” with props for visitors to use. As always, no flash photographer will be permitted.
Participation will help promote the museum on social media by bringing more awareness to one of Bosque County’s gems. If visitors want to participate but remain concerned about sharing your current location for privacy reasons, museum officials suggest visitors upload selfies or museum photos at a later time and date.
