Meridian State Park offers healthy, outdoor start to the New Year
Are you in need of some fresh air after being indoors over the holidays? Wanting to start the “Roaring Twenties” with the resolution to eat healthy and move more?
On New Year’s Day, the Meridian State Park once again offers a 2.5 mile guided hike along the Bosque Trail. Guides will meet guests at the Refectory at 2 p.m.
On the hike, guides will talk about the special features and historical aspects of the park. Guests will be able to enjoy the scenic lake views, so bring along cameras and binoculars.
Also, be sure to bring water and dress according to the expected weather – layers are best – because knowing Texas weather, it can be cool in the morning and then warm up significantly during the day.
For more information, contact the park headquarters and to sign up for the hike at (254) 435-2536. The park headquarters is located at 173 Park Road 7 off State Hwy 22 heading south out of Meridian.
