Heralding in Christmas season, the 32nd Annual Clifton Lighted Parade delivers holiday showcase for families across Bosque County
CLIFTON – The rain let off, and it wasn’t as cold as forecast. Families gathered along the whole route ready to gather all the candy they could get into their goodie bags and wanting to be amazed. And amazed they were – the 32nd Annual Clifton Lighted Christmas Parade was bigger and better than ever rolling through downtown Clifton Dec. 6.
Hosted by the Clifton Chamber of Commerce, the amount and diversity of fun floats was a joy to see. The parade represented all that people cared about: the Grinch, the Clifton High School Band, horses, dogs and even goats, beautiful classic cars, immense and impressive agricultural equipment and Santa on a big fire truck.

Area churches, volunteer fire departments, businesses and organizations took the opportunity to present themselves in a fun, seasonal way. And the cherry on the cake was the lighting of the new, big Christmas tree by Santa himself at Heritage Plaza after caroling by the Baptist Church children’s choir.
Not only does the lighted parade and lighting of the Christmas tree herald in the holiday season, it also kicks of the Clifton Chamber of Commerce’s Norwegian Christmas Home Tour the next day, with all manner of activities and music, celebrating the season and the county’s Norwegian heritage.
